Re: Team #2990, Hotwire Robotics!

You could win just by scaring all the rest of the robots into the corner to hide because it looks so intimidating . Nice job look forward to seeing it in action next week.

I love this robot, the way the ball goes from the intake to the shooting position is pretty cool, and the giant sprockets win you some style points for me. I'm interested in your drivetrain, could you elaborate on what your setup is?

Thanks PVC! Our drive train switched a bit throughout that video actually, but here's the current version.

We are using a 6 wheel drive base (2 8" Plaction on each sides and 1 8" Omni on each side). We are using 4 CIM motors, 2 on an AndyMarck SonicShifter each (2 total SonicShifters).

--------|= - ++ |
Front---|-------|---Rear
--------|= - ++ |

= - Omni
+ - Plaction
(Ignore "-". It helps with formatting on ChiefDelphi :-/ )

Hope this helps answer your question :-)

JagCode will become famous soon enough
Re: Team #2990, Hotwire Robotics!

This bot was absolutely wonderful this weekend. I particularly loved how you guys found a way to have a tall launcher, while also using a roller intake. Most tall bots had a grabber, and most roller intake bots were short (like ours).

Are you guys going to Auburn District, or are you staying in Oregon for the next one? I'd love to see your bot in action again.

Also, sorry for tipping your beauty in the Quarters.

Re: Team #2990, Hotwire Robotics!

I saw your robot in videos from the Corvallis scrimmage, and I was looking forward to seeing it in action (via livestream) this weekend. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. It's certainly the most intimidating robot that I've seen so far, and my friends and I have been trying to figure out how you stayed under 120 lbs with that thing . Well done!

JagCode,

Haha! You guys were awesome as well!

We are actually going to stay in Oregon (Wilsonville then Corvallis). Hopefully we'll see each other in Portland!!

P.S. That fall was awesome! Haha!

Thanks! Ya, staying under weight was a huge issue! We are about 117ish pounds right now, and it's a miracle it's not a higher number!

Will we see you in Wilsonville or Corvallis (OSU)?
