Go to Post The most important piece of advice I can give is have someone assigned to pay attention to the batteries. You cannot imagine how many teams end up saying "I thought you were charging the batteries..." - RoboMom [more]

I was wondering if any teams were willing to post what their robot carts looked like

I dont know about other teams but in the many weeks of building the bot we have become lazy in the part of moving it around. When we cant drive it around we want some way to move it around. So we decided on a cart. We were wondering if other teams had some inventful carts they wanted to show off.

We are working on a new one now. it's basically a toolbox on a platform that we got from Delphi awhile ago. We've painted it and added red and blue LED lights to the bottom of the cart and the inside compartments for a "street glow" effect. I'll post pictures when we get done.

Sure, our cart holds the bot, has removeable wheels, space for 3 toolboxes and a controller (with room for the lids to open), a sliding tool tray, and allows for access under the bot. It also feature a pop-up work table. When the wheels are removed (as simple as taking out 1 bolt), it will fit into the back of a suburban.

well

So far we don't have it finished so we can't post pictures but we had some very bored yet very creative guys start to put together an awsome " advertisement cart " and and new robot cart

Basically we used some old parts to put together a cart we can drive around :-)

and our robot cart has pneumatics for bouncing :-) heh

WE are working on getting a sound system from the swap shop ( local flea market if you hadn't heard of it ) to play it loud :-)

You have to see team 930's cart...WOW! it's awesome! They attached it to a lawn mower (minus the blade of course ), so it is self propelled, with a stereo and pretty good music too.

Nice job to those on Team 930

We dragged an old shopping cart out of a creek, and used the arc welder to cut off the cart part, leaving just the bottom and the handle thing. With a peice of wood on the bottom it works pretty good.

You know teams are rich when their cart is more professionally made than other teams' actual robots...

I will blatantly disregard the comment about the rich teams

FIrst off most teams have spare parts from past years, its more to with the time people are willing to put into making your team run efficiently, if its not something your team sees as cool or important don't knock other teams for doing it

Also, if your team doesn't have money, get out and earn it, then you'll have it, almost every team has to earn their money at one point or time by getting annual sponsors, and had to work there butts off to get them, ( now there are some as in 4 or 5 who did basically nothing ) but money doesn't grow on trees if they earned the money to do something cool, more power to them
