I am new to ODROIDs. I need to get set up with all the software, hardware, etc. I do not have an eMMC reader/writer and I need to get the Ubuntu image up and running. I also had some weird issue where every minute or so, the monitor would glitch, turn off and turn back on. Now, the monitor has turned off and won't turn on. I need to know what I am doing wrong. I can't even image the X2 because I can't get the ADB drivers on 8.1pro!

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
Gosh! You are awesome! I have spent all day, downloading 20gb of files, etc. trying to get this to work! Those instructions seem like they may work. right now, my android is 1.9/1.9gb (in chrome), so the download should complete soon!

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
Glad to help! I'm not sure about the screen problem though. If it has a pattern to it then it's a real problem... Random black outs could just be a bad HDMI cable.

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
That's what it seems like, to me. Hopefully it runs long enough to allow me to install xrdp! That way, I can use it headlessly. Does the android image have SSH? I just finished downloading it!

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
The Android image doesn't have SSH by default but the tutorial is for installing Ubuntu so you should be fine.

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
I think I downloaded the wrong file. Can you point me to the right Android image to flash to the SD card?

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
The tutorial provides links to the files. What they are doing is installing Android and then installing Ubuntu from Android... or so it seems.

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
I am getting no status lights. Am I doing something wrong? The SD card is in and the eMMC is in. I am using the connections I soldered on for the power, and a lose terminal for ground. I only have a red light and the HDMI is disconnected. It is really weird because none of the blue lights are turning on!

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
Have a look here about status lights.
Looks like your ODROID is not even powering on... Odd. You should have somebody look at those soldered connections. They could be bad. How much voltage are you providing the board? Alex Brinister |

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
Also if you want another tutorial for installing Ubuntu, look here. That's from the ODROID site and doesn't seem to involved Android...

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
I am using a voltage converter and supplying 4.998-5.001 volts. When I plug in the eMMC, it boots properly into the provided image, that has a lot of stuff that I do not need!

Re: ODROID X2 First boot help
Did you remember to change the boot jumper to SD? You have to change it so that you don't always boot off of the eMMC.
