Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
See attachment....
Congratulations to the winning alliance of 971, 1678, and 766! They did amazing. This makes back to back wins for 1678. Also big congrats to the finalist alliance of 2085, 1671, and 692. 2085 qualifies for the championships with the wild card. 3256, the warriorborgs, picked up Chairman's, excellent job! 4159, Cardinal Robotics gets EI, that team has done so much in such a short time - very inspiring! Also glad to see my "brother from another mother", Robert Greene, win WFFA. Congrats also to my daughter, Leah, with the Dean's List. |

Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
Can't recall all, but 1(971) picked 2(1678), then 3(2085) picked 5(1671) from there I can reconstruct:
new 3# 2761 takes 100(26th) #4 114(6) takes 2035(16) new #5 4159(7) takes 599(18) #6 1280(8) takes 4135(15) #7 668(9) takes 2073(24) #8 1388(10) takes 2551(17) and then 2144(19) #7 1868(50) ? #6 701(32) #5 3250(40) #4 115(51)? #3 662(22) #2 692(28) #1 766(31) Not sure for third pick(low rank)in most cases perhaps they had a high shot. I think 971 and 1678 could have put a potato in as their 3rd pick and still have won. As a matter of fact they pretty much did score double their opponents in one match where 766 was stuck on the field. Last edited by Dr.Bot : 17-03-2014 at 11:43. Reason: typo, political correctness |

Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
First off, I want to thank everyone involved in putting on this regional. It was a great event, as it always has been. I'm really proud of what our students accomplished this weekend. We had a very unconventional design from what most teams were doing, but we made it work.
Additionally, thank you to 1868 and 2073 for joining our alliance. You guys were both awesome alliance partners and we would pick you guys again without a second thought. Also a thank you to 2085, 1671, and 692 for giving us some really exciting quarterfinals matches. Finally, congrats to 971, 1678, and 766 for taking home the banner; you guys were unstoppable. Quote:

766 is a great team with great students, and it was a pleasure to work with them again. 971 won SVR and Calgames in 2012 with 766 and had great interactions with the team that year as well. With some modifications, they could do very well at SVR this year, and beyond. Last edited by kevincrispie : 16-03-2014 at 17:21. Reason: grammar |

Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
On behalf of team 1678, I would like to thank the organizers of the Sacramento Regional for putting on another great event. The atmosphere was classic Davis with lots of energy, crazy defense and high-spirited spectators.
I especially want to thank Teri Benart for all the time she has put in this year as the regional planning committee chair to make sure the event was a success. Also, thanks to Jim Beck for giving our team the opportunity to do the live streaming. Congratulations to all of the teams who competed so hard at this regional. 2085 , 2761 and 1671 all looked like they could have won this year. I'm sure I'm going to miss a few teams here but other great bots included 599, 2035, 3250, 2073, 100, 701, 766 , 114 and 3256. You guys were all high on our pick list and it just happened that 766 was still left (amazingly) by the last pick. Thank you to team 971 for picking us and to team 766 for being an awesome complement to our alliance. We are looking forward to seeing you guys again at SVR. Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
I would like to thank the planning committee for making this event as great as it always has been. We had quite a bit of fun this year, and with very few technical difficulties with our robot, we found ourselves in some awkward moments where we had nothing to do in our pits.
Congratulations to the winning alliance of 1678, 971, and 766. You guys were definitely unstoppable. I look forward to seeing some fierce competition with you guys in St. Louis. I also want to congratulate the finalist alliance of 2085, 1671, and 692. I'm glad that our friends from 2085 have the opportunity to go to St. Louis, we're glad to see our friends from the 2011 Sacramento Regional Finals make it there again. I'm glad that 2085 and 1671 are going to St. Louis, they really deserve it. I wish 692 qualified also, they were a perfect alliance partner and also really deserve to go. Lastly, I want to thank our own alliance partners of 668 and 1868. It was so much fun to play with you guys. Those quarterfinal matches were some of the most intense matches I've ever seen from behind the alliance wall. Well done, it was amazing to have come just 5 points from making it to the semifinals. Also, if anyone has any match footage from those quarterfinal rounds, I would very much like to see them! |

Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
971 would like to thank its alliance partners 1678 and 766. We could not have done it without either of these two teams.
We're also very happy that both 2085 and 1671 are going to join us at championships. They are 2 great teams that both performed well throughout the weekend. 2085 was the whole competition, only losing one match in qualifications. Winning 11 matches at a regional is an achievement anywhere, and they were worthy opponents for the finals. Several 2085 members came up to our pit after finals and congratulated us on our win. They are a classy team and we wish them the best at Championships. 1671 was also on fire for much of the competition. Being a finalist at 2 competitive California regionals is a huge achievement. We knew how great 1671 was as a team from back at Davis in 2012 and 2013 and the Madtown Throwdown this past year. They qualified for Championships based on winning the Chairman's Award at Central Valley, but they also deserve a spot based on their on field performance. They have a great robot and it was a pleasure to compete against them. They also congratulated us on our win, and people have to give them credit for giving a very good fight throughout both their regionals. Thank you as well to the volunteers and organizers who helped put together such a fantastic event. 971 had a lot of fun. |

Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
The archived footage from our webcast of the Sacramento Regional is now available on YouTube. Check out the playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...TMFK9UWfueBvBm
There seem to be an issue with the YouTube playlist feature at the moment causing some matches not to appear. To get around this, click on one of the match videos and then navigate to using sidebar. |

Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
I would like to thank all of the amazing volunteers, judges, referees, teams, and everyone else who made this event possible. It was a lot of fun competing at.
Also, I would like to thank our alliance partners 1671 and 692. We wouldn't have made it to finals without them, and it was fun working with you guys! And of course my hat is off to the amazing performance by 971, 1678, and 766. Your alliance was smooth and efficient, it was an honor to duke it out with you guys in the finals! |

Re: 2014 Sacramento Regional
Congratulations to all the teams that participated in the Sacremento Regional. It is great to see the number of thank you's to the dedicated event coordinators and mentors.
Thank you FRC #971 for documenting the process to compete at a FIRST event and to work with Team #766 and Team #1678. I loved sharing your story of persistence and a well-designed robot. https://www.facebook.com/SolidWorksE...73603296072793 We wish you the best at the Championship! Marie |
