Qualifying for the Michigan State Championship will be tougher than ever. My current projection places the point threshold at 70-75 points, but take this figure with a grain of salt as most Michigan districts have yet to be played. 3 teams that have each qualified for MSC each of the past 4 years are in danger of missing out: 51, 494, and 2959. With all three at 37-38 points after 1 event, they are each one sub-par event away from staying home in Week 7.

It is amazing how the points have worked for us this season. Team 2959 had a great showing in Escanaba ending up the 3rd Alliance Captain. Unfortunately, we lost in the QF due to penalties. (101-102 ughh!) We just finished competing in Purdue at the Boilermaker Regional Competition. We were Regional Finalists (yay!) and, again, would have won both of the last two matches if it were not for fouls called on a robot in our alliance. (but, unfortunately, Purdue doesn't "count" towards points for State Qualification) We are looking forward to lots of fun next week at the Saint Joseph Competition and hopefully we will do well.
