Issues With Potentiometer?

Hi everyone,

So our team has had these potentiometers (http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-2619.htm) from Andymark for a while and we are still having trouble getting them to work.

When we run teleoperated code to test the potentiometer, the voltage reading should be from 0-5V, which it is, but the potentiometer only spins about 10 degrees from zero and then the readings are always equal to 5V when spinning the shaft any further. We tested this with a second duplicate potentiometer and the same thing happened. Does anyone know why the code might be doing this? Or has anyone else experienced a similar problem? We also checked all of our wiring with multimeters we think there is definitely not a problem with that.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Issues With Potentiometer?

It sounds like you have the wiring backwards on a couple of terminals. I'm not 100% certain, but based on the picture on the AndyMark page you should be connecting the SIG (white) wire to the terminal farthest from the shaft, and the +5 and (-) wires should be connected to the two terminals nearer the shaft.

Yep! You were right! And we got the issue fixed. Thanks so much!
