For those who haven't seen twitter, the OKC regional just gained another tough competitor.

Whaaaat!? After seeding #3 at both of their previous regionals, and coming within one foul of winning Arkansas (twice), Team SCREAM is aiming for nothing less than gold in Oklahoma. I look forward to watching them play well into Saturday afternoon.

Re: 2014 Oklahoma Regional Thread

What a weekend! These past few days have been a blur but it has been one great story. We received a call on Thursday morning at 7:30 am stating that a team had cancelled last minute on Wednesday night and that they wanted to see if we could make it down. My initial reaction was, "No way." But after more consideration we decided to give it a shot.

Our school was super supportive and gave us the green light to go. We scrambled to make travel arrangements, payments, hotels, and robot preparations and we assembled a skeleton crew of nine students and 2 coaches. We arrived in Oklahoma late Thursday night and were ready to compete Friday morning.

After an amazing weekend we are so proud to have been a part of the winning alliance with 3660 Lightsabers and 2424 Robot Mafia. This was the first regional win for each of our alliance teams. Thanks for being such great alliance partners.

We had an incredible time here in Oklahoma. It was great meeting so many teams and seeing familiar faces from other regionals. This is an amazing venue which was run very well. We will look forward to returning again. Next time we will give more notice though!

We also wanted to give a huge thanks to Doc from 1723 and Malcolm Strickland for all of their technical help. Team 3528 Up Next! Your team is so impressive and we enjoyed working with you. Congratulations to team 1710 for your chairman's win as well!

Re: 2014 Oklahoma Regional Thread

Team 2950; Devastators are extremely grateful for this wonderful opportunity to be able to compete in OKC. It was our schools first time competing out of state for anything! The experience was absolutely fantastic and super exciting!

I'd like to thank our alliance partners 2341, Sprockets and 2461, Metal-Skins! You guys were awesome all around teams! I know our drivers had a blast working with you guys and as a lead in strategy I had a blast communicating with you guys to figure out different tactics. You guys are force to be reckoned with so keep it up and you guys will sooner be picking the alliance than being picked!

Also I'd like to thank 1710 for being an awesome scouting partner! It was truely an honor to work with the regional winning chairmans team! We sure learned a lot from you guys both on and off the field.

Thanks to 1209, Robohornets and 4933, Green machine for an awesome last qualification match. Going up against the number 1 seeded alliance no one thought we were going to win, but we proved them wrong. You guys did an amazing job!

Thanks to every single team at the competition if it wasn't for you guys originally starting the regional we would never be able to come! So thanks for competing, I know we had a blast competition against you guys.

Finally thanks to all the Volunteers, Mentors, Coaches, Teachers, Sponsors, Judges, Field Crew, and everyone else who was apart of making this amazing regional! You guys are truely inspirational for hosting such a great regional and we are in your debt.

Congrats to all the teams who are moving onto worlds! I wish you the best of luck. Also watch out for those Texas teams! We hope that you have a great and prosepurous off-season and continue to grow in ways that are unimaginable!

Thanks for an awesome regional!

Hey there!
I'm from team 2424, the Robot Mafia, and I have to say it was an honor to compete on an alliance with you and your team! It was so much fun. You guys did so well.
And in regards to videos, I haven't quite gone through them all yet, but so far I know that youtube user "dropthetenors" has the finals matches uploaded, and maybe more.

Re: 2014 Oklahoma Regional Thread

Up Next had a great time in Oklahoma City. Everything from a super smooth load-in, spacious pits and comfy stadium seating makes this our favorite regional to attend.

A huge thank you goes out to our alliance captain, 3507 Ubotics and 2352 Metal Mayhem. The elimination matches were so exciting. We were so close to bringing home the top prize. I wish you both were able to come to St. Louis.

Congratulations to 3660 Lightsabers, 4522 Team Scream, and 2424 The Robot Mafia. You guys played clean matches and we are so happy for your win. Additional congrats go out to 4933 (RAS), 2341 (EI), and Chairman's winner 1710.

We would like to extend a special thank you to team 2395, the Ninja Munkees, for inviting us for pizza on Friday night. We really enjoyed getting to know your team. We hope you can join us in KC again sometime.

A big applause goes to the regional planning committee and especially Harold Holley. Great job! The wrap-up video was super, as always.

Re: 2014 Oklahoma Regional Thread

What a fun and crazy event. I know I definitely did a double take when I walked by an empty pit with a 4522 sign on Thursday. After seeing them at Arkansas I knew they would be a force to be reckoned with.

A huge thanks to our alliance partners 3507 and 3528. We definitely tried to make it exciting for the fans, starting with our first elimination match. Each match grew in intensity and number of robot parts left on the field.

Congratulations to the winners 3660, 4522, and 2424. You guys were excellent and kind enough to call a timeout for us in the finals so that we could work on one of our robots. This allowed us to come back with one perfect match. We ended up falling just short but the students could not have been more thrilled about what they got to be a part of.

Not that I know of. I was the person who did it in the past, and this year I wasn't able to be there and was only able to get the webcast pulled together. Sorry about that. I'll do my best for next year.
