Women and Girls in STEM

Hi, I'm from team 2035, the "Rockin" Bots. I am currently writing a paper on women and girls in STEM education and careers. If you were a girl at the Silicon Valley Regional, I may have surveyed you . If you are a girl on a co-ed team, it would be really helpful for me if you could answer a few questions.

Were you worried, nervous, or intimidated to join robotics because you were a girl?

Have you ever experienced discrimination, sexism, or anything of the sort while in robotics?

If so, could you please explain? Also, let me know if you would like your name used in the paper or not.

Thank you so much!!!

When do you need the answers by? We have several young women on our team and I could forward your request to them.

Re: Women and Girls in STEM

I went from a co-ed team to a all girl team. While I enjoy working with guys at robotics it was much easier to get my opinion out there and prove myself on an all girls team.
On the team I was on with guys, though most aren't like this, they made me feel unuseful and unwanted. They acted like I couldn't get the job done the way they could.
