Cool HEY IT"S ME!

Hey everyone, well I knwo for me it will be easier if you could say what you first name is and then tell me something short about yourself. I might not always be good with names but I usually never forget information about someone. But I'm trying my best to keep up with some things you all are saying!

Harrison: Wow was this snow a blessing to our team. We were in the school for 5 days straight for just first! Our team really have tiem to bond since it is only like 15 peopel big...and sad to say the girls are actually out numbered....we use to haev more girls than guys. But this year there are only 5 girls! Also, the snow was a problem because I have a pick up that is rear wheel drive...and it got stuck so many times getting home one night...so I jsut left it outside and it is kidna stuck there till I get the energy to shovel it all out! lol Like I ever will haev the energy!

Joe Ross, TO answer your question about why we are goign to Pitts and Grandrapids...instead of the one that is closest (Cleveland) This is becuase then we can go up and watch the games occur. Cheer on many different teams and have fun jsut running around. With being a small team we don't haev much tiem to jsut run aroudn and meet people. This year we are on our own with only our teacher (Sue Godez) That is our adult. We have to know every little bit about hta robot so if something gose wrong who ever is there can work on it....and with out the help of an Engineer. Last year the Robo Dawgs where great and helped us out ALOT! There was also 33 and 27 that helped out team. But it will be fun to go to cleveland and jsut cheer and meet people!

sevisehda, I'm doing good sicne you asked a while ago. Things are not so great here at home and I'm thankful to have had First to keep me away from my house! lol But It is nice to go to school and check this web site and have a few post that are personal to me to reply to! SO thanks for asking and how are you doing? Happy to haev the robot shipped?

I know exactly what you mean. ask anyone who's tried to find me at a competition that my team is competing in

which pretty much means, I won't be able to pass on Jim's lame pickup lines, unless you really, really want to hear them

Be sure to cheer all 6 rochester teams too!

Females....

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend of mine. She was commenting that everytime she walked by the CS labs, any heads poking over the computers would follow her down the hall. .... one major plus of FIRST. Convincing the opposite gender to come to tech schools so the guys aren't quite so lame....

The snow definately helped us as well.....we kinda were done and ready to go on Tuesday, but now the bot is actually done (minus a part that a Jr broke on it about 5 mins b4 the FedEx truck arrived) and working. And, the auto-mode code we have in now doesn't drive the bot through the walls (as an ealier version of the program did...lol). Robot 1 Drywall 0

But, the bots done and shipped, and looks good.

http://www.mobotics.ca for pics and other info (shamless advertising).

As for cars being stuck.....yeah that happens.....we did a little video of my car being stuck in the snow, and then us getting it unstuck (mines front-wheel drive too)....and then theres our programmer who drives a big GMC Safari van...that things a pain to push when it gets stuck (and it IS rear-wheel-drive).

Competitions: Great Lakes, Canadian, and Nationals.

My truck is a four wheel driver but I don't see much snow in Cali anyway. Once got a 2WD stuck in sand. All you have to do is get like 8 or ten of your friends to stand on the back bumper (or in the bed) and you'll have all the traction you need. I know what it's like though with a truck. I even break traction with mine on pavement every time I reverse up a hill or accellerate a little too fast around a corner.

Mind sharing what kind of truck you have? Mine is a 99 Ranger.

I'd wear a mask so the guys at the regionals won't keep bothering you about them asking you for a date after the pits close. But you'll get used to it.

But my Birthday is Sep 2nd.

sevisehda...I'm Canadian...need I say more about snow? lol

Actually, in all honesty, we havn't gotten much at all this year (in total since like December < 6 feet [we've had a couple "melts" already]).

And now, it was like 6 degrees today (40 something F I think)...so all the snow is going away. I must say...I could go for some shorts and t-shirt weather right about now....

As for Cars...I can't dis mazda's....nice cars (cept the MPV is an ugly van if I ever saw one)...the new Mazda 6's are sexy little things.

I'm a toyota man myself tho....ive got a lexus es300, and my parents drive the toyota sienna xle (which I borrow for canoe trips in the summer...).

http://www.mobotics.ca/gfx/harrison_car.jpg
http://www.mobotics.ca/gfx/harrison_van_canoe.jpg

They're both auto-tranny's.....ah well, still fun

and Neon's...lol, my best friend has a neon....i bug him so much for it (im not a fan of american cars...)

Argh........almost a month till the GLR....i won't survive!

Hmmm....

But being from WPI, I can understand what is going on here. (4:1 male:female ratio, yuck).

But that's why we need girls like you to come here. Our FIRST team actually does a lot of outreach to females.. more than the rest of the entire university does, it's quite impressive. I think that we need to do more outreach in Ohio though
