What's with all the NI.com subdomains?

I was looking for the driver station update, for use in the off-season, and it has been removed... weird.

Anyway, I came across several subdomains of NI.com all named after units of energy:

• joule.ni.com
• lumen.ni.com
• decibel.ni.com

Does anyone know why these are there?

It's not uncommon for an organization to name each of its servers based on a theme. Per Wikipedia:

However, smaller networks will frequently use a more personalized naming scheme to keep track of the many hosts. Popular naming schemes include trees, planets, rocks, etc.
