Re: MAR Teams at Champs 2014

MAR is sending two teams to Einstein. 2590 coming out of Archimedes and 1640 from Newton. Best of luck teams!

It's been great keeping track of all the MAR teams attending STL this year. You all represented the region well.

Re: MAR Teams at Champs 2014

I would like to point out that, not only was MAR well-represented on Einstein, but that we have a Finalist team in 1640 and a Winning Mentor with Jared Russell, veteran from 341.

Personally, I want to say that it is amazing every time I get to see a MAR team on such a large stage. We're making a strong name for ourselves as a passionate, well-run district. We had teams in every division go on to elimination rounds with a very cool, calm, and collected professionalism unmatched in FIRST.

It makes me feel even more proud to see MAR volunteers across the venue. 708 had 8 students doing everything from field reset to Safety Glasses to helping in Volunteer Central. We had 3 referees from MAR, including one on Einstein. Two MAR familiar faces were Field Supervisors on Archimedes and Galileo. Our FTA friends Liz and Bharat helped keep fields running. (I'm pretty sure I even saw Gene helping out at registration at one point.) And I, well, I danced around on Newton and Einstein.

I look forward to seeing you all at some of the local offseasons and next year's District events. What another incredible year for MAR!

-tom

(p.s.: I'm helping create a standing volunteer committee for MAR. If you have any input, feedback from events this year, or any other questions/comments, send me a message.)

Re: MAR Teams at Champs 2014

Just a bit of trivia I posted in another thread:

There was a MAR team in the finals of each division (including Einstein). That's awesome!

Newton - 341/1640
Galileo - 1218
Archimedes - 2590
Curie - 2016
Einstein - 1640
