New Programmer, Installation Not Proceeding

So I'm going to be (hopefully) programming on my team next year, and we are converting from LabVIEW to C++, with WindRiver Workbench. We understand that the control system is being changed for next year, but we'd still like to learn C++ in the offseason, so the change can be quicker.

I have a new laptop, and I'm trying to install the software from disc, but I'm having a struggle to get it to work. There are 7 parts to install, and the first 3 went slowly, but they worked. The 4th part is giving me trouble. (VxWorks 6.3 and General Purpose Technologies). As it installs, it goes to a step "Attempting to exec: C:/WindRiver/setup/bspinstall.bat". The window is still responding, and I can cancel the installation, but it makes no procedures. There is no DVD activity. Is this a problem with an older disc? I'm not sure how old our disks are, but if there's a newer version I can download and use, where can I get it? Basically, how can I get this to install?

Laptop information, if needed:

Toshiba Satellite C55
Intel Celeron 2.13Ghz, 64-bit
Windows 8.1, 64-bit
4GB RAM
500GB HDD, 5400RPM
