Question: I live in Tennessee, will this require meeting together? Because no offends but I'm not going to fly/drive to California for it, though I don't exspect that you thought I would

I would suggest reaching out to people that have had previous experience in designing games. Both the VEX GDC (Jim Zondeg, Karthik, etc.) and the OCCRA GDC (Jim again, Dan Kimura, Mike Martus, etc.) would be places to start. I know Evan Morrison from 1983/GameSense has mentioned things about game design on his show as well.
