The hat!!! As well as 3313, 2175, and 706. Slight state bias. I wish I could have payed more attention to regionals outside of my state but my internet connection is never the best.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

Re: Favorite 2014 Robots?

My favorite robots for this year have to be 195, 254, 469, 971, and 1114.

195 build the best robot in NE. Period. They were money during districts and at the district championship. It was a blast reuniting with them for Archimedes quarters. My only regret was that we only played together for one match this season.

254's unique design allowed them to successfully pull off their dominant autonomous. If I were to build a robot again to play Aerial Assist, I'd build another Barrage. They got so many details right about this game -- from the backspin helping 2056 catch the ball at Waterloo to the double intakes to the easy human player inbound.

469 had the catch, a high release catapult, a goalie stick, and could shoot with varying velocities. In hindsight, I wish we had gone with a similar, high release 'pult design. That's critical for making shots under defense.

971 had an awesome robot: not only did they build that crazy claw that could shoot from either side, but they used it to improve their robot's functionality. Not many teams who build something as complex as their arm can have it be so reliable or use it as effectively.

1114's season at the regional was not what I think they were expecting or had hoped for. But their robot was absolutely amazing -- their goalie autonomous mode was absolutely epic during Einstein finals, and they played some killer defense on Einstein during semis. Evolution definitely lived up to its namesake.

Re: Favorite 2014 Robots?

My favorite robot this year was 2481(Completely unbiased), and a close second was 70. 70's self-shot truss catch was just too epic, while 2481's bot was so perfectly designed for swerve drive with the arm being parallel to the floor.

Re: Favorite 2014 Robots?

33 was my favorite robot hands down. Their unique choice in a drive train forced them to adapt by having one of the best variable-range shooters in the game so they could shoot from anywhere on the field. Sure, they weren't as amazingly reliable as 254, but they were a joy to watch- dodging defense and making fadeaway shots at high speed, or catching from the human player halfway across the field.

Re: Favorite 2014 Robots?

From MAR my favorite robot would have to be 1218 I loved how effective their intake was as well as their catapult. It was awesome to see such a quality robot.

3467 became one of my favorite robots as the year went on because they proved how you can utilize a VERY different design and still shoot better than everyone else.

Re: Favorite 2014 Robots?

In the NE District:
177 - Great Pickup, and almost never missed a shot (or their 2 ball Auton). Plus they caught numerous balls!

195 - Great Pickup, and quick shots that were deadly accurate. 195 was always a feared team at every competition. Plus alot of fun to play defense on

558 - Neat and Clean Looking, amazing drive team that's easy to work with. When 558 chooses a role, they dominate it!

230 - Best hammer bot! Really clean bot that constantly improved. Very easy to work with, and made it to so many final matches this year!

3467 - What an interesting robot! Truly a different bot! Their rank and awards really proves why they were a team to look up too.

2067 - SWERVE! and their drivers knew how to use it. By the end of the season, their catapult accuracy matched their swerve. At CT State Champs, they didn't rank too well but in eliminations pulled their alliance to the finals. A great robot to watch

Outside of NE - 20, 2481, 33, 16, 25, 179/1251, 971, 1241, 1678, 1717, 2485, 3847, 3313
