Re: Fabtech 2014
Neat, I wonder how they supply power to all those machines on the conference floor. They must have some crazy generators.

Just to give you and idea of the scale of power use for a convention center, here in Orlando at OCCC on the roof there is a 1 megawatt solar array, this only scratches the surface of the facility power, nothing to do with show power. I had a meeting with some of the facilities guys there once and they started walking me through some of this stuff, pretty impressive and massive. |

Re: Fabtech 2014
Well it certainly looks like they have someone that knows how to make a good video. Wow.

Re: Fabtech 2014
The video kinda has that "Terminator" theme going on in the beginning. Well made video that stirs my manufacturing juices.

Re: Fabtech 2014
The one year I went, it was hosted in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center (Fall 2010 I think). The GWCC is one of very few facilities that can provide that much power. When I went, i was a representative for my team and for Georgia FIRST, and we were able to spread the message of FIRST while getting some companies interested in our operations (leading my old team to acquiring a mill from JET). It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
