AZ Chipotle Fundraiser

Hey teams, on June 29, our team (1492) will be having a fundraiser at Chipotle. The success of this fundraiser depends on how many people we can get to come (and purchase food). I thought here would be a great place to share the event.

The Fundraiser is from 5:00pm-7:00pm, please bring flyer below or tell the cashier you're here for "Team CAUTION 1492" and we'll get half the proceeds. Again, The success of this fundraiser depends on the amount of people participating, so please share!

Re: AZ Chipotle Fundraiser

If teams around here had fundraisers at Chipotle, I'd attend two per week! Awesome idea guys, I hope you can get a good turn out!

Re: AZ Chipotle Fundraiser

This is an easy and effective fundraiser. Working with our local Chipotle, our Parent Boosters set up a similar fundraiser for a weekday lunch rush (11am - 2pm). We had every student and parent send the flyer via mass-text to everyone they knew the week before and the day before the event. They made almost $1000 for the team!

Re: AZ Chipotle Fundraiser

Having had some experience with fundraising at Chipotle (we are very active in my children's school PTO), you need to make sure that you are on them for actually sending the check. The last couple of events that we've had, it has taken 4-6 months for the check to get cut. I don't know if it is a local issue or not, but just laying it out there as it has happened with 2 different locations.

That being said, they do have one of the best fundraising percentages...Culver's is also very good at I believe 50% also as an FYI if there is one out there by 1492.

Teams shouldn't neglect to go after some of these fundraising opportunities. Many fast food, and some no-so-fast food restaurants have easy programs in place. Some do the percentage based on a sliding scale of volume (more sales means a higher percentage...Chick-Fil-A was like this last I knew and is pretty lucrative if you can get the participation), while others are a simple hard percentage.

Most restaurants have something like a 2-times per year for your organization rule. You would have to negotiate with them in regards to whether "your organization" means the school as a whole or not for purposes of the rule.

One other thing....make sure the participants bring the flyer or whatever is needed as some restaurants use them to get credit. We tend to station someone near the entrance to hand them out just in case as well as to get normal walk-in traffic that isn't there for the fundraiser but are there normally. Some places just do a "within this timeframe, everything is counted" deal.

When our team did a Chipotle fundraiser, management wouldn't allow us to hand out flyers for walk-in traffic. We also had a problem with the cashier accepting verbally telling them they were they for the fundraiser- they needed proof either through a copy of the flyer or showing it on the smart-phone.

With that being said- a very easy fundraiser.
