Houston Robot Remix

The Houston Robot Remix is an off-season event in Houston, Texas celebrating its third year. For the past two years, the event was supported with funding and volunteers from the Lone Star Regional Committee.

For 2014, the event is planned and organized by FRC Teams 1477 Texas Torque and 624 CRyptonite with lots of help from our friends in the Houston Robotics Community. The event is funded by the registration fees paid by the participating teams. Any funds remaining after expenses are met will go to local charities.

Registration Link

We are allowing for 32 teams with a minimum of eight matches per team. Alliances will consist of four robots. Plan on the same rule modifications as IRI. The top eight teams are not allowed to select each other. The selection sequence will be 1 - 8 then 8 - 1. The backup robots will be randomly assigned from the robots remaining. We will be working with FIRST in Texas and the Texas Workforce Commission to arrange grants for rookie teams from Texas to pay their registration fee. Once a team has registered, they will receive an invoice via email for the registration fee.

When
All qualification and elimination rounds will happen on November 8. Field setup and load in will be November 7. Teams may also load in Saturday morning, November 8.

Where
Oak Ridge High School
27330 Oak Ridge School Road
Conroe, Texas 77385

Who
In the past, only teams from the Lone Star Region were allowed to participate. This year, we would love to see teams from all parts of Texas and those willing to make the drive (or flight) from outside the state.

Cost
$300 (if paid before September 12)
$350 (late registration)

Re: Houston Robot Remix

Just registered, can't wait for Remix 2014. Let me know how we can help.

Out of state teams, Torque puts on a very good event. If you can make the time to come join us this fall, please do. You won't regret it.

Re: Houston Robot Remix

Thanks Allen.

We had a great time at the Texas Robotics Invitational, even if we did get knocked out in the quarterfinals. I liked how even the play was with the changes you made in the alliance selection process.

Registered.
Although very different, I also liked how the alliance selection was done at TRI. I vote to do the same here.
If you need any help, let me know!

I have to fill out PO request, so I need the who, what, how, when and wheres.

Thanks,

PJ

Re: Houston Robot Remix

Update on the teams signed up so far.

57 Leopards
118 Robonauts
148 Robowranglers
254 Cheesy Poofs
624 CRyptonite
1296 Full Metal Jackets
1429 Team KAOS
1477 Texas Torque
2468 Appreciate
2585 Robophiles
2587 DiscoBots
2881 Lady Cans
3103 Iron Plaid
3335 Cy-Ranch Cy-Borgs
3481 Bronc Botz
3735 Klein Bots
3847 Spectrum
3991 KnightVision
3999 Shadetree Robotics
4587 Jersey Voltage
4589 The AdamasBots

That brings the total to 21. We are expecting three pre-rookie teams to take spots 30, 31, and 32. That leaves 8 spots still open. We have a little flexibility on the number of teams, as long as we get a minimum of eight matches per team.
