Re: Water Games

You also have venue restrictions to think about. One of our regionals in MN is held on a basketball court that could be severely damaged if water leaked and puddled for days. The same is true for many of the district events, from what I understand. From that standpoint alone I don't think we'll have a water game, not until they arrange for water proof venues.

Re: Water Games

Venue shouldn't be a problem, we can host the event at the community center pool or in any high school or college pool. Since most of these pools are in-ground, have video 3D projected on the inflated balloon right above the pool, so no one misses the game. If you have not seen 3D project, visit Niagara falls (Canadian side) and stop by 4D theater, its just awesome.

Re: Water Games

I think it was on "FRC Game Sense" interview the other Frank said the 2015 game would not include water. Of course that could an intentional distraction because the game really includes water.

Well, that's certainly not happening next year...

There's no pool to be found in the DECC where Northern lights and Lake Superior are scheduled!

Re: Water Games

Based on previous posts by a certain Lord Dumpling, we're more likely to have a jello game than a water game.

Oh, didn't you hear, teams in the frozen north (notable Minnesota, Canada, and the UP of Michigan) are going to be replaying 2003's game.

Why 2003? I was thinking more like 2009... Lunacy on ice! At least we get rid of the regolith...

Because the outside is already a fridge, we don't need more fridgebots.

Re: Water Games

What 2 previous FRC games involved water on the field, in some (any) way, shape, or form? Yes, there have been 2. Not counting the odd offseason that somehow gets flooded out. One of them has already been brought up in this thread.

2009: Lunacy. In this instance, water was sprayed onto the field, specifically the carpet rim of the field, at multiple Week 1 events to try to solve an ESD problem.

And...

1993: Rug Rage. There were a number of water-filled balls on the field to collect and put in a goal.

Sorry folks, the water game's already happened.
