Re: Choosing between Richmond, VA and Palmetto, SC Regionals

Hello...

I can't add much to what Matt has already said...VCU is our home regional
also and we went with them to Palmetto two years ago (we shared a bus and hotel with them). Richmond at that time of year probably will have the minor league Baseball team in town (the Richmond Squirrels) and there are a lot of music and theater venues near-by. Also while we've never had time to do it... Kings Dominion park is just up the road. Mrytle Beach on the other hand has its beach and some smaller amusments and restaurants open that time of year.

Being that Palmetto is held in the off tourist season for tourists the hotels
are usually cheaper. Richmond hotels will cost you more. I can see why your not thrilled with the NC regional (I've visited it twice in 2010 and 2013 and volunteered there in 2012) theres not much near it, but you could always see
if there is something going on in Raleigh if your team has the time.
