Resizing Assemblies in Inventor

Is it possible? Can I take an Inventor assembly and resize it when I insert it?

Clarify

There seems to be no rational reason to resize a whole assembly in inventor, you want to model your parts to the correct dimensions.

If you mean edit the parts, that seems to make more sense....

Please clarify your question

We downloaded a premade assembly (specifically, the Victor884) that was sized all wrong. I really don't want to remake the whole thing, but it's about 20 times too small, and I can't figure out how to scale it.

That's odd

Where did you get the file from?

It would seem odd that anyone would make a 20 x size mistake

The Victor Speed Controller is available, in its correct size, from www.firstcadlibrary.com

There is no way, to my knowledge, to resize an entire assembly. However, you can create derived parts that are scaled, or mirrored from their original.

My guess would be it's a 25.4 times too small mistake, which can easily be attributed to somebody using the wrong units.

Anyway, you can always grab the Victor883 (which is exactly the same physically as the 884) from http://www.firstcadlibrary.com/ (it's in the electrical section).

I think it is 25.4 times too small. If they did it in millimeters instead of inches, that would be the result. I'll try downloading the file from www.firstcadlibrary.com. I'm not sure where the one we have came from.

The one you have came from FIRST's provided Virtual Kit of Parts on the Autodesk site.

Ed Sparks' model is accurate. I ran into the same problem that you are having now some time ago.

In fact, I learned that there are many, many errors in FIRST's kit of parts.
