Free PTC Software Workshop - Oct 4

The Bionic Black Hawks (FRC Team 2834) are co-hosting with PTC a free hands-on workshop “How to Model Anything”

Taught by a PTC software expert, students will learn about 3D design and how you can save time and your team’s budget by designing, assembling, and testing your robot in PTC® Creo® before building it.

Practice your basic 3D design skills by exploring various 3D robot models, assembling an FTC robot drive base, and designing your own parts for use on your robot.

All Michigan FRC and FTC teams are welcome to attend.

Date: October 4, 2014
Time: 9am - 3pm

Re: Free PTC Software Workshop - Oct 4

Would it be possible to record this and place it on CD for all the other FRC and FTC teams to see?

Re: Free PTC Software Workshop - Oct 4

Andy, welcome to Chief Delphi and posting your very first post.

Adam, if you are interested in Creo software, the better resource would be the ROBOTalk that PTC have weekly starting this week. The site is at http://www.ptc.com/communities/acade...first/robotalk
Recordings from last year's ROBOTalk can be found at http://communities.ptc.com/community...view=documents

The workshop we are hosting is a hands-on workshop and is 6 hours long. There is not as much group instruction as in the ROBOTalk. Most of the instructions are one on one as each attendee goes through the workbook at their own pace. The format is not suitable for videotaping.

Our team have successfully used Creo for the last 6 years. I can't even imagine how to build a robot without CAD.

Thank you. I will definitely be looking into this and showing my team. We have just about no CAD experience and we are looking to learn it this year.
