Question IO board?

Our team is unable to find our Cypress FirstTouch module. Is there any other hardware that is supported with the FRC driver station and would be able to be programmed in Netbeans with java? I spent a nights searching for anything that would be able to provide switches for our robot ether on the driverstation or a physical. Any help or suggestions would be a great help! I would like to get familiar with one now before build season starts, the frontend of the new cRIO isn't seeming to change.

Re: IO board?

Here is one option that we use.

Custom Control Interface - CCI

The old Cypress Board will no longer be supported by the 2015 control system.
It's a discontinued product.

Re: IO board?

I heard from a friend of a mentor on my team that Cypress is supplying a new board for the KOP this year... We're trying to get him to bring it out to show us, but until then I won't know any details.

My understanding is that this new Cypress board is expected to be used on the robot as a custom circuit, not as an I/O interface on the DS.

With the new USB ports on the RoboRIO, we'll have a lot more options for custom circuits. As I said, I don't know anything about the new board yet(it was not provided to us as a Beta team), but I could totally see a USB custom circuit that could be used on either the robot or driver station as a possibility. Regardless of where it goes, I'm excited!

I think there will always be a market for an attachable board to give us analog and digital inputs for the driver station, and the sky's the limit for what we can do on the robot!

This is the same one we've used for the past few years. Extremely easy to use since it just acts as a joystick.
