Hotels for regionals

Has there been any word on travel arrangements and hotel blocks for volunteers/teams yet?

I know that Steele meetings is no longer managing this, but I'm wondering who is and when the information will be available. The FIRST travel web page still says "we'll let you know."

Yes, it's still close to 3 months from week 1, but I like to have that sort of thing arranged as early as possible.

Re: Hotels for regionals

A FIRST email blast on November 20 had this to say:

Quote:
2015 Event Housing Provider: If your team is traveling to a Regional or District event this season, we highly recommend reserving rooms in the official FIRST housing block. Your Team’s Main and Alternate Contacts received an email with an invitation to secure a block of rooms at participating hotels on Monday, 11/17/14. Please be sure to check your inbox for this important information.
That might not account for events we've gotten into after Nov 17.

Here's another one from November 13 saying Experient is the new provider:
Quote:
2015 Event Housing Provider: Experient is proud to be the Official Housing Provider for the 2015 FIRST Robotics Competition event season. FIRST has worked diligently with hotels in each area to establish room blocks for teams that travel to Regional and District events and need affordable, convenient, and safe accommodations during their stay. If your team is traveling to a Regional or District event this season, we highly recommend reserving rooms in the official FIRST housing block. Your Main and Alternate Team Contacts will receive an email with an invitation to secure a block of rooms at participating hotels shortly. Please be sure to check your inbox for this important information.
Finally, Here's a copy of the Experient email

I either go with Hotwire or Hotels.com (I got my rooms for free @ IRI because of using their rooms so much). I prefer going with Extended Stay hotels. They're inexpensive and pretty decent. If you stay a while you got a stove and fridge which means you can have actual meals instead of going out to eat all the time which can drain your budget.
