The 2015 version has changed with the addition of 90 deg flanges to one of the side members for better support.

I just wanted to verify your guesses for you. Yes the AM14U2 will be available to order on its own. It will become available after the game animation on kickoff day. Which is way soon.

FRC558 choose to get the voucher so that we could choose which COTS chassis we would like to run in 2015 based on new product availability from both AndyMark and VEXpro. We are excited to see what the new AM14U2 chassis looks like and are expected at the very least another VEXpro DIAD chassis.

Keep in mind there are a number of COTS drivetrain options.
