Go to Post The point of outreach isn't to "win" a "game" so I'm not sure what you hope to achieve with such a concept. The idea of "beating" another team in terms of outreach is fundamentally flawed. - dcarr [more]

New teams to host Bike Build events

Does your team like giving back to the community? Does it like putting smiles on kids’ faces? Does it like collaborating with other FIRST teams? Then a Bike Build could be for your team.
The Bike Build has been met with success as Team 75 has hosted over 8 Bike Build events at various regional and district competitions such as Chesapeake and Trenton. With the help other teams, Team 75 has donated over 120 bikes to local youth organizations. In the past we have helped other teams such as 1370 run their own Bike Build.
A Bike Build is where bikes are built from their individual components by teams at a FIRST event, then presented in the middle of competition to a group of underprivileged children. This event stresses collaboration between teams at an event, along with using basic engineering to create a gift for the less fortunate. These events are usually run by one team at an event. This team will get the parts for the bikes, find a group of underprivileged kids to come to the FIRST event to donate too, in conjunction to working with event coordinators to make the event run smoothly.
This event is great for teams who look to give back to their communities. It also gives the underprivileged children the experience of going to a FIRST competition, exposing them to the organization that is FIRST and STEM. We are currently looking for teams willing to host a Bike Build of their own at competitions they will be attending this upcoming season. If this sounds like something your team would be interested in running then contact us at president@roboraiders.com , and we will send you a standard operating procedure along with instructions on how to get started. We would be more than happy to help you in any step of this process, and hope to get this initiative going elsewhere around the FIRST community.
