Go to Post My crotchety old person opinion is that it should be illegal to try to win the award. Do things because you like doing them or because it helps others. Don't do things to win awards. - Madison [more]

2014
118's Spring Puncher pullback/launcher
118's Shooter rotation lock/preset thing

2013
1334's Climber- didn't have to wait for hooks to reach up to grab the bar
254's Climber and gearbox- ridiculously compact/light
118's Climber - didn't work so well in practice, but a really cool idea

2012
Bridge "stingers" to help balance
16's catapult

2011
233's typical chain driven telescoping arm
148's four-bar linkage

2010
67's robot lift - lifted using only stored energy after end of match
254/33/148/1114's lift - curl up
148's shooter with cam
359's (??) pneumatic wheel climber (kind of like 118 2013)
469's entire robot

2008
1114's puncher/winch and arm. Their whole robot was amazing that year
148's swerve
118's linked swerve with rotating turret (like their 2007/2005 robots)
Nothing good in 2009?

Huh? I thought the FRC years went straight from 2008 to 2010. I keep thinking there might have been something in between, but its impossible to come up with an idea that bad.

I think there was a VEX game in 2009 but that's about it.
