Re: [FF]: 2015 Season Long Fantasy FIRST: Traditional League

Couple of quick announcements, and then I'll be putting up Ventura.

1) Tonight set a record for the MOST FF event drafts in one night, at 4 drafts. Drafts are still going, too, but we seem to be back on schedule. (James, if I catch you running a draft from your phone while driving, I'll have to see if I can swipe a -infinity from Billfred for ya.)

2) We've got some waiver claims. I strongly suspect that there are more teams out there, but the policy is you see 'em, you claim 'em. If nobody wants a team, we'll let them go.

Also to be noted with the waivers is that one of the teams is claimed to fill a hole. Filling a hole in the draft (either a team dropped out, or somehow was picked twice) is an automatic bump to the top of the waiver list if you make a claim to fill that hole, automatic award of the claim, and automatic drop to the bottom of the waiver list. (Or you can just claim a pool team, but sometimes those waiver teams are too good to pass up.)

The claims, in no particular order:
Code:
303 (Tech Valley)
5076 (Greater Toronto East)
2996 (Utah)
604, 1323 (Central Valley)
3250 (Sacramento)
3314 (Alamo)
5416 (Bayou)
1622, 4026 (South Florida)
The hole to be filled: The Daedalite InVAders inadvertently got 3959 twice in Bayou, and have claimed (and been awarded) 5778 to fill the hole in their third pick.

The list:
Brolliance Beta
Team SuperPowerMatic
Koko's X-Cats
The Yellow Alliance
Swamp Life
PureMichigan
The Breakfast Company
Rotten Peach Alliance
Orange Juice
Ltown Throwdown
SHARP Cheddar
Frog Farce
Falcon
Daedalite InVAders

Oh, right, the deadline. I know it's normally 5 days, but... I'm in a giving mood. Christmas Eve at end of drafts is the deadline(6 days), sneak one in before I manage to get around to cycling and it goes in the hopper too.

On further review--I didn't notice that 5778 was already taken. Claim DENIED, InVAders will need to make another claim (or transfer an existing claim to that position). InVAders revert to slot #9 on the priority list--for now.

Its been a while, but we're finally submitting a claim for 4587 to fill that hole.

Re: [FF]: 2015 Season Long Fantasy FIRST: Traditional League

Well right now I don't think complete match data is available for all the events, so right now we wait. Once that happens, some of us have to go through and score all the teams, although there might be some stuff to automate some of the process. Then the scores for each FF player get totaled up and the event score is added to the standings.

Also, I vote for either using the district points and not giving our usual ranking points or using our usual ranking points and not having anything in place of win/loss points.

Using our usual ranking points and not having anything else isn't gonna work past #15 or #16--everybody gets zero beyond that unless they're picked or pick up hardware. That would be... rather bad for a lot of folks in single-tier events.

Everybody OK with using FIRST's system for the year, with no separate FF ranking points? Unless I suddenly hear a lot of negativity on this, I think that's about the way to go. Awards points and elims finishes won't change, BTW.

It would certainly make things a lot easier. If everyone is OK with it, my bet is that I can ask Alex at HQ to spit out all district point equivalent data (not just districts) for teams at all events for us. He was doing some of this last year with the original District Ranking System which is now FIRST's main Database source. He's likely a little preoccupied right now though considering...

*Edit: Alex said these values will be available for non-district teams that compete in districts, but not exposed for non-district events

Re: [FF]: 2015 Season Long Fantasy FIRST: Traditional League

I just realized that one of my picks (4101) in the PNW District draft doesn't exist as a PNW team. I assume I need to change that right?

Yup. Just don't pick a team that's played more than once.

With the data back online, is any scoring happening?

I can do some scoring I just need to have an updated sheet/document laying out what everything(Awards/Ranking/Playoffs) is worth.

Re: [FF]: 2015 Season Long Fantasy FIRST: Traditional League

This was my first time scoring a draft. I'd certainly like to help out more. Let me know what needs to be done.

I stole a copy of the GDOC, and automated most of my scoring processes. It hasn't been added to the Official District GDOC as I don't have permissions: My Source

Indiana District Champs:

Code:
Frog Farce 202
Rotten Peach Alliance 181
Falcon 147
The Breakfast Company 144
Brolliance Beta 134
The Yellow Alliance 121
Orange Juice 98
Daedalite InVAders 81
PureMichigan 79
Koko's X-Cats 68
LTown Throwdown 49
Team SuperPowerMatic 49
Swamp Life 29
SHARP Cheddar 13
