we have no pics yet, but we made our cart slender, so the wheels of the robot will hang off the sides (and won't roll off the cart), in the center there is a piece of plexi-glass that has black & silver flames painted on it. The handle has a small box on it that can carry batteries, controller, etc.

This is our Kart so far, it's only about 75% done, but it looks pretty cool already. It's basically an old toolchest from Delphi that we painted and did a few other cosmetics on. It's got an "undercar kit" (Red LEDs pointing towards the ground), blue LEDs (which you cannot see in this picture) lighting both of the open compartments, and the rotating beacon from our 2002 robot with a yellow filter mounted on it. Also, this Kart is hitched to last years' Kart because at Chicago, our robot would be too tall to get through the doorways if it were on top of the toolchest w/ the wings on it, so we will set the drive base on the "toolchest" part, and The wings on our old Kart.

Last year, we used a piece of plywood with four casters on the bottom, and a piece of 10 guage wire to pull it with. We were planning to build a slightly better version this year, until we saw a pair of gear-head forklift motors at princess auto....

So this year's cart should look like a small electric zamboni with lots of flashing and binking lights.... and a very loud horn or similar noise maker... provided, we gather up the initiative to build it.

Failing that, we will have to use the plywood and casters again

254's cart

You can see pictures of the Cheesy Poofs (254)'s cart here and also here . The second one is a little better, but you can see our cool underglow and the mounts for the robot in both. The robot is mounted rotisserie style. We also have 4 drawers and a worktable.

I left a few people on our team in charge of building a NICE NEW CART, and so far, I have seen very poor results! Ouch.

First, they wanted a folding cart, so it could fit in the storage compartment of a bus.

Second, they made their own casters....

Third, they made a 'suspension'.

Id like to say that all of these were successful, but I hope we have a working cart by the 10th or we are in trouble.

Oh yeah... not to mention the old simple cart...

- fits through doors
- carries the robot
- carries 2 batteries
- carries control board (by ways of bungee)
- folds up easily
- just needs some reinforcement of right handle
