Team 4488 Shockwave - Preseason Mock Build Week

We recently had our annual Mock Build Week. At the start of the week, a challenge is presented and, throughout the week, the team operates with build season hours while it goes through an accelerated process of brainstorming, prototyping, CADing, etc. The challenge has multiple parts so as to test every group.

The video: http://youtu.be/MjqgmQzsbkk

Why we do it
- Train rookies
- Be a full experienced team before kickoff
- Identify strengths and weaknesses prior to the season
- Have fun!

In case you're curious about the details...

Hungry Homer

General
- Use previous practice robot's drive base
- No arm solution since we did that for last year's Mock Build Week

Autonomous
Details:
- Robot starts with possession of tube
- Robot begins 10ft back and 3ft to the right of the slots aiming forward (Measured to front left point on bumper)
Goal: Raise the tube into a preset scoring position (top or bottom slot), drive toward slots, and score the tube.
Bonus: A second tube will be place directly behind the robot. After scoring the first tube, get the second tube and score it in the other slot.

Teleop
Details:
- Robot starts without possession of tube
- Tube begins flat on floor somewhere between the robot and the slots
Goal: Repeatedly put tubes in slots.
Bonus: When a position button is pressed by the driver, move the Specialized System to corresponding state (get tube off floor, score low, or score high).

Hope you guys like it! We're very excited for the season to start.

That's such a good way to get your team primed for build season. Looking forward to seeing another great robot from 4488 this year! Good luck!
