Human Player handling of totes and litter

An alliance's two human players are in the human player stations. Can they move from the human player station once they enter it? Does the third human player shuttle totes and litter to the other two human players? Can a human player move more than one tote or litter at the same time (i.e. could I grab all 10 litter at the same time and carry to the human player station)?

i do belive you can leave your station because the rules allow for the human player to become driver half way through a match, you can jus switch drivers at any time

The closest one I could find talking about this is G32.

G32 During a MATCH, the ROBOT shall be operated solely by the DRIVERS and/or HUMAN PLAYERS of that Team.

The and part may mean that the Human Player could take control of the robot. I don't see any use for it though.

Maybe for Kinect control? I am just guessing.. But I think FIRST wants to leave opportunities open and see where teams take them.

We can use more controllers this year, so that might have something to do with it.

Actually in the rules it says no more kinect or webcam control. It's rule G21

I believe the no kinect/webcam was just for auto to prevent the innovative ways people have gotten around the auto rules in the past.

True. G21 states:

During AUTO, DRIVE TEAMS must not directly or indirectly interact with ROBOTS or OPERATOR CONSOLES.

The note below it:

FIRST salutes the creative and innovative ways in which Teams have interacted with their ROBOTS during AUTO in previous seasons, making the AUTO period more of a hybrid period due to indirect interaction with the OPERATOR CONSOLE. The RECYCLE RUSH AUTO Period, however, is meant to be truly autonomous and ROBOT or OPERATOR CONSOLE interaction (such as through webcam or KinectTM) are prohibited.

However, R46 prohibits human players using IR remotes to control robots, similar to 2008.

One(1) D-Link Wireless Bridge (P/N: DAP-1522), hardware revision B, that has been configured with the appropriate encryption key for your team number at each event, is the only permitted device for communicating to and from the ROBOT during the MATCH.

Because that was a legal way for human players to communicate with robots during the Hybrid Period of the 2008 game, FIRST Overdrive. It is not, however, legal this year.

It was the first thing that came to mind for an example, since they were legal in '08. I could have said R/C car remote, as well - same idea.

Just remember, as per G5, "only one Alliance member may be in each Human Player Zone at a time."
