Recycle Rush Robot Roles

Just like in any sport or organization the people involved are assigned specific positions to accomplish tasks together. I am curious what these positions will be for this year's game. Last year we had inbounders, high goal scorers, trousers, etc.

What about this year? So far, I can think of:
Low tote transporter/pusher
Tote scorer
Container transporter/pusher
Container scorer
Litter scorer
Others?

Is it worth it to be more specific on the types of scoring the robots can do? For example, level 1 vs. level 6?

Re: Recycle Rush Robot Roles

I think with the nature of this game, most teams will go for more than one role that you specified.
For example, most teams would probably go for Tote and Container scoring, and with those roles would probably come with being able to push/transport totes and containers as well.

As for the litter, I don't think it's exactly worth designing a robot to just deposit litter in the container (which is weird, you can't recycle litter).

We won't know until the majority of teams have revealed their bot though.

Re: Recycle Rush Robot Roles

Most teams are going to do more than one thing. My team is going for tote scoring, container scoring, and pushing littler (pushing litter to the landfill). Since there isn't really any defense this year we will obviously not be a defensive robot.

Re: Recycle Rush Robot Roles

I agree it is optimal to do multiple things. I also feel that there will be many teams that will only be able to contribute in one or two ways. I am just trying to establish these roles and find out what the"ideal" alliance would consist of.

There have been many games where one or two robots could do the scoring and the other would fill in as needed. The "as needed" robot is/may be an interesting position for this game, kind of like last year's benefit of having an awesome inbounder/passer on your alliance.
