Adding on to what others have said, it is clear that this was the intent of the game.

If points are awarded for a COOPERTITION SET and a COOPERTITION STACK is formed at a later time in the MATCH, the COOPERTITION SET will be upgraded and instead awarded points for a COOPERTITION STACK.

ALLIANCES can earn points for either a COOPERTITION STACK or a COOPERTITION SET in a MATCH, but not both.

So are you suggesting that you can get an unlimited amount of EITHER STACKS or SETS, but not a mix of the two? If I have 5 different instances of SETS, are they ALL upgraded if I later make a STACK? I hardly think that this is the GDC's intent at all.
