Setting up multiple cameras

This year, using the way ip cameras are setup using the auto-configuration tool, the cameras are connected via DHCP. How do you connect to the cameras in the labview code? axis-camera.local is not working for me, I have to type in its ip.

Second, if they are all setup at axis-camera.local, how do you connect to two different cameras that are at the same address?

Re: Setting up multiple cameras

Axis-camera.local seems to work well for M1013 cameras, but it didn't work on 1011 or 206 models until I modified their host name in the camera's web page. I believe the steps were to set the DNS to be manually controlled, enter the name, Save, then set it back to automatic.

The initial DNS name for the older cameras was axis-serial#.local. While convenient for the multiple camera situation, it isn't convenient for the examples code.

Anyway, once you are comfortable modifying the DNS name, you can set them to anything you like, such as axis-camera0 and axis-camera1. Then you use those names with .local appended as the camera address and it would work as you expect.
