Re: My RoboRio needs a doctor

Also make SURE the 10 amp and 20 amp fuses are in their respective slots - the 20 amp fuse on the left giving power to the PCM and VRM, and the 10 amp fuse on the right for the RoboRIO power - see image below The RoboRIO should be plugged into the CONTROLLER POWER slot with 18 - 22 wire guage. ![]() Last edited by EmileH : 11-01-2015 at 12:55. |

Re: My RoboRio needs a doctor
emileh3467,
We currently have wired it this way. When it did not work we tried connecting can as well. and it still didn't work. Conor Ryan, Yes we also followed these directions. Our members just tried re-imaging the RoboRio and it still doesn't respond or work correctly. We will call for support Monday. Thank you to everyone that gave suggestions and advice. |

Re: My RoboRio needs a doctor
asnell16,
Have you tried looking at the RoboRIO manual and its LED indicator section? Confirm your PDP is outputting a proper 6.8-18V output through the CONTROLLER PWR port with a MultiMeter if you get a chance. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by EmileH : 11-01-2015 at 15:54. |

Re: My RoboRio needs a doctor
On thing that might help, is to post a couple of clear, large pictures of your electronics setup, so we can see if the wiring is right. It's easy to connect something to the wrong place, without realizing it. I know because I've done it.
If you get some more folks to confirm that it's all wired correctly, you can rule that out. |

Re: My RoboRio needs a doctor
The CAN will be used for logging PDP data, hence the robot rule requiring that CAN be connected to the PDP. It is not needed for operation of the RoboRio nor the PDP.
