Wrong JDK version?

After installing Eclipse to use with RobotBuilder, I tried to set up the JDK to use with Java. I installed the Java development tools, but I seem to have the wrong version of the JDK. I appear to have JDK 7, but I saw that it should say 1.8 or 8. Will this pose a significant problem with using RobotBuilder to code our robot? If it does cause an issue, how can I fix it?

Re: Wrong JDK version?

This shouldn't cause any issues with RobotBuilder, but if you try to run the Java Installer for the roboRio, it will fail. Other than that, you shouldn't run into any issues, you just won't have access to some of the cool new features in Java 8.

Re: Wrong JDK version?

You should install Java 8 if you want to use the Riolog to view console output from the robot.
