Exclamation Signal Disrupted While Updating RoboRIO Firmware

The title explains the problem. Here's the details: the connections have been tested and found secure before the update process; when we attempted to update, the signal got disrupted without human interaction; we have tried replacing ALL of the wires connected to the RIO and the router; this problem happens every time we try to update the firmware.

Does anybody know why this is happening and/or how to fix this issue?

p.s. I am aware that this may or may not be an electrical issue, but the credibility that it is an electrical issue is the highest out of all possibilities.

Yes, I was connected via USB.

Joe Ross, what I mean is that, somehow, the RoboRIO loses connectivity with the computer without any human interaction. I was saying what the error message said in a nutshell.

Re: Signal Disrupted While Updating RoboRIO Firmware

A rookie team I was helping out had the same problem, it turned out to be the USB port on the computer. We used one of the other ports and it didn't give the "lost connectivity" message and it worked on the first try on the other port. The computer was a KOP classmate. May not be your problem but worth a try.

We hit similar issues. The resolution was simply using a different cable.

Re: Signal Disrupted While Updating RoboRIO Firmware

I witnessed something similar to this, but I chalked it up to a restart following the upload of the new firmware. Have you verified that the version of the firmware is still old, it's possible the update actually went okay.

Please don't paraphrase error messages. Telling us exactly what the error says will help us determine what might have gone wrong and how to correct it.
