Go to Post Both might accomplish the same "function" or "results" (perhaps a lift of some kind), but there are clear differences in simplicity, in cost, in maintainability, extensibility, and several other "ilities" -- which are a staple of engineering evaluation criteria. - msd [more]

Pit Crew members....

Hello, Team 21, ComBBAT, is sending out an excel spreadsheet to all teams to list the spare parts they plan on trading at UCF. We have tried sending them to teams, but many we were unable to e-mail. We haven't recieved ANY responsed yet. So please go to download the spreadsheet We're trying to get all teams going to the UCF regional to fill this out, so please give download this and give it to someone who can fill it out. Because nobody responded to the last post. Thanks.

What we're doing is having every team send us the spare parts you plan on bringing with you to trade with other teams. We will compile this into one giant database and have it on a computer in the ComBBAT pits for all teams to come over and search for parts they need, and it will find teams that have the parts they need. We hope this will be an efficient system to help make it easier on other team's pit crews and make it simpler to find necessary parts. Please download that spreadsheet and send it back to miketwalker@cfl.rr.com and we will add your team to the database. We request that every team send this back. Thank you very much.

I am the pit crew chief for Team 233, we are bringing a few spares, but due to weight not many, i beilve i have an extra CIM motor, as well as wiring and other electronics.....i really don't recall what i actually packed.....my specialty is working on robots, not organization....but if you need anything i will see if i have it...and if not i will help you find someone who does.....here's to the spirit of "gracious professionalism".

Well, can you please download that spreadsheet and put in what you have when you do get a chance to find out. We're going to just take all the spreadsheets and load it into one pagemaker program we made. If you download that spreadsheet it's got everything setup for you to fill out, and would save us LOTS of time and make it easier for teams to send us the info we need. Thanks guys! Pass the word on if you can, I only was able to email about 15 teams that are going to UCF, so I couldn't get MANY of the e-mails. Thanks again! See yas at competition.
