The Axis camera is not required. You can use any camera that can interface with you're robot and meets the rules. First may provide sample vision code but I'm not positive. I'm sure many teams would be happy to provide you with example code. I'm don't have the code with me right now but I can post the code our team used last year for aiming at the goals later if you would like to give it a look.
