UCF Playing Field

Team HeatWave will be bringing the entire ramp surface over to Orlando for everyone to practice on. We built the full size wood version with the HDPE and grid. One problem however is that we don't have the exact type of carpet that FIRST uses, and the carpet we do have is not the full length of the field. We were wondering if there are any teams that have the actual carpet and are coming to UCF that would be willing to bring their carpet along with them? The problem we foresee is that teams will tweak their auto-modes on our practice field to work, but when they play on the real carpet, timing will be off. Hopefully someone can help us out so we can have an accurate full size field for all the teams to use! Let us know, Thanks!

Hey that is great! While we don't have the carpet, or the full sized field ourselfs, it will be a really great thing for teams to practice on, and get their systems working.

it would be hard for us up here in New England to bring down a rug.

But

I would be willing to give some money to help you guys get The rug. I bet enough of us do this we could have the right rug to play on.

Thanks Mike! I will definetly look into that as an option. Ill try and get some prices tomorrow for a roll of the carpet, and let everyone know. If we go this route hopefully some other teams will help out by pitching in. And if not I know that there are some Florida teams that have built the field. I just hope they would be willing and we can get a hold of them soon!

I know our team has a good size roll, just not sure if we have the means to transport it. I'll find out wether or not we can bring it and post here as soon as possible.

we have about half a field.. plent enough for autonmous mode anyways... hope we can help.. and if money is a problem i'm sure could give a little.. but money is tight so pm me if you decide

I believe we have enough rug but I'm not 100% certain it's the exact same type. If you still need it PM and I will check if we can help.

Hey everyone thanks for all the offers to bring carpet for the practice field! I think if we piece together the carpet from Combbat, PAW, and the Sigmacats we probably will have enough.
If you all could check to see exactly what tyoe for carpet it is I would really appreciate it. We want to have the feild as accurate as possible. The offical FIRST carpet is listed as Brassfield 20, Pewter in the manual, hopefully there is someone on your team(s) that knows if this is the same kind you all have. When you get a chance PM me and let me know what you found out and we'll work out any details for meeting on wedensday night or thursday. Thanks again to everyone that replied!
