What is this?

Hello everyone,
We found these this year and we do not know what they are. We need to order some more to implement our strategy. If anyone could offer some insight and/or somewhere to order them we would really appreciate that!

Re: What is this?

So, since we cannot get the parts from AndyMark here quickly, does anyone have any suggestions on what would serve as a viable substitute for the hex spacers? Thanks in advance!

Re: What is this?

Can you just use pvc with an ID large enough to fit around the hex shaft?

Re: What is this?

In a pinch our team has used many things as spacers for hex shaft. PVC and thin wall aluminum tube that has an ID bigger than the 1/2 hex are the two most common.

Re: What is this?

You can also buy a bunch of these spacers from Vex:
http://www.vexrobotics.com/vexpro/ha...alspacers.html

They are much cheaper than that AndyMark part, but they aren't as wide in their outer diameter. Depending on what you need them for, they could be a better solution.

Re: What is this?

Spacers are also one of the few things that you can 3d-print on a hobby grade printer and still get good results. We've done this a few times without a problem.

Re: What is this?

If you have access to a lathe you can always make these spacers out of delrin. It cuts easily and you can press fit it onto the shaft which is nice. PVC pipe also works for making them.
