Things to Hand Out at Competition

Hey everyone,
We are making buttons this year and are curious as to how many we should make. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Re: Things to Hand Out at Competition

Spitballing a number, I would say a couple hundred. At a district championship or CMP, pack a few times that (given how we ran clean out at MSC). If somehow you have some left over, you can roll them over to next season.

If you want something in addition to buttons, wristbands, key rings, and pens are other things we've done or I've seen others do.

One of my personal favorite giveaways was a small flathead screwdriver with team information on it (and a pen clip), like the ones used to stick items into connectors on the power distribution panel.

Re: Things to Hand Out at Competition

Depends on how many events you're going to. On 2220 we would order 2000 of our flashing light-up buttons for a season. I don't believe we ever had some remaining by the end of it.

Basically, as many as you can afford/would like to make. Robotics teams have a voracious appetite for buttons and other delicious giveaways.

On 2386 we usually give away injection molded items such as key tags, wrenches, maple leafs and other things all made in house. We generally speaking go through at least 500 on a normal day.

Re: Things to Hand Out at Competition

Last year we went to FLR and championships and made 3,000 buttons to give away. We had a couple of hundred left over which we tried to get rid of at Midknoght Mayhem and at demos. We still have a few left.
We will go for making another 3,000 this year.

Re: Things to Hand Out at Competition

Traditionally we gave out little key chains, but I think this year we might hand out pocket sized blue banners.

Re: Things to Hand Out at Competition

For buttons, we typically make a couple hundred for two district events. I'd say around 300-400 is usually good. Just remember to tuck some away for judges if you start running low.

Last season, we gave out pens with the team logo and gave each team at our events a cup (and pens) with our logo. Cups didn't go over too well, so we're looking for something new.

We make 2000 buttons and give away almost 3000 LED bunny ears.
