USB Camera on Dashboard "Huffman Table 0x00 was not defined"

Our team is trying to get our USB Camera running on SmartDashboard, but whenever we try we get "Huffman Table 0x00 was not defined."

When we use the default dashboard, we're able to use the camera. But we want to make our own dashboard with this feature. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Even when running the sample Simple Vision code we get the same error.

Yep, the Life-Cam 3000. I take it that's part of the problem.

My team uses the Lifecam-3000, and had this problem. It works on a 32bit operating system but not on 64bit. I am currently trying to replicate my results on a 64bit computer.

Also, the beta testers of the new control system were explicently told to use the tools in 32bit mode/environment. I think it is just a lack of comunication from FIRST.

Actually, we're using 32bit Win7 (although it has 3GB of ram)

Still doesn't work. Weird right? I guess as a team we can't solve this without FIRST resolving it themselves.

Is it a 32 bit OS or 32 bit tools? We uninstalled Java and Eclipse 64 bit versions and re-installed 32 bit versions and still had the same results. Would love to see a real solution to this problem.

It is my understanding that it is 32bit tools. I am working on getting it to work right now on a 64bit system. I will let you know if I get any results but from what I can tell, results are very inconsistent.

If you have any luck, please post. We tried 32 bit tools, and that still didn't work for us. If there's some remnant setting after re-installing that's possible - but a huge pain.

After a painstakingly long process, even running all the tools in 32bit mode is useless in getting USB webcams to work.

Can you be more specific? We were never told to use 32 bit software for anything.

My team was never a beta tester, it was what I read on another thread. I'm sorry, I can't really elaborate on that.

Re: USB Camera on Dashboard "Huffman Table 0x00 was not defined"

After many hours of trial and error we managed to get the USB camera to work while running the Smart Dashboard (Java). All you need to do is create a new project example for Intermediate Vision and delete lines 39, 44, & 45 (just draws a circle on the viewer of the camera). You will have some unused imports so removed those and then just make sure you have created the object in Smart Dashboard and you will be set.
