Re: Legal Motors
It just needs to be sold/labeled as a "window motor"

Re: Legal Motors
The rules don't specify part numbers, do they? They only specify "automotive window motors".
So go for it! |

Re: Legal Motors
Be prepared to present documentation at inspection showing the motor was sold as/labeled as a "window motor" if necessary.

Re: Legal Motors
They don't even specify "automotive" - just window, door, wiper, or seat. Does this mean that I could use a wiper motor from an airplane? I'd imagine an airplane door motor is quite powerful...

Re: Legal Motors
Look at R18 again. They restricted it to automotive motors in a recent update.

Re: Legal Motors
This still opens up a huge number of powerful motors, trucks and busses are automobiles, I wonder if anyone is going to put in the time to research a more power dense legal motor than the CIM. Could be interesting.
