24 volts to power CIM's?
R8 & R30 allows Custom Circuits to create up to 24 volts.
R44 says that Custom Circuits may not alter the power pathway ... Does R44, or any other rule, prevent boosting voltage to 24 volts, and using that power to power Motor Controllers, and thus the CIM's? The "pathway" is not change. The power still goes from the PDP, to the Motor Controller (which is controlled by the roboRio), to the CIM. The power is merely enhanced between the PDP and the Motor Controller. In other words, the custom circuit gets in the way, but does not bypass anything. I remember last year that there was a rule that prevented using 24v to power CIMs. |

Re: 24 volts to power CIM's?
R44 states that the pathway between the PDP, motor controllers, and motor may not be altered by a custom circuit. Stepping up the voltage would be altering the pathway.
Anyways, the CIM is a 12v motor. |
