2005 KOP Transmission use in 2015??

My team came across and old transmission box from 2005 given out in the KOP. It is labeled FRC-2005-112-001. I wanted to make sure that since it was given out in a past KOP it does not violate any rules from R12 and R13. It really isn't fabricated and all we would be doing to it is changing the gear ratios and position. Is this legal?
