Dashboard Crashing on Open

Hey Chief Delphi, I'm a lead mentor for a rookie team out of Southern Alberta this year.

These past 6 weeks have been an incredible challenge, but this forum has been invaluable in providing resources and knowledge so thank you!

Right now we are trying to integrate a usb style camera to help our drive team line up with their totes and such. It seems that when starting the FRC dashboard it crashes almost immediately, becomes two grey squares instead of the dashboard.

Right now we're running the driver station off the notebook provided in the kickoff kit (Should this be something we change??).

It is a custom dashboard, but it doesn't crash when I run the simulated robot through the same project (on a different machine) so I'm not sure what's causing this?

Anyone had any similar problems??

Thanks!

Re: Dashboard Crashing on Open

If by crash, you mean that the screen doesn't look right and loses the tabs, the first thing I'd look at is the video resolution. It seems that the code never expected to be installed on less than a 1024x600 system and misbehaves when it is run there.

If you get newer video drivers for the laptop and get it to that resolution, you should be fine.

Re: Dashboard Crashing on Open

If you post your code it would be the easiest way to get help.
