Robot Names 2015

We cycled through a few.

Originally, people wanted to name it Atlas. A few members and I shot that down because I predicted it'd end up being too common a name.

About week 4-5, people suggested Murphy, because all that could go wrong, did go wrong.

After the amount of chaos this season, the disorder created by the immense changes from past games, the tendency of stacks to fall over, and to start a new tradition of naming robots after physics terms (last year was Impulse), we named the robot Entropy.

Our robot is named Otis.
One of our major sponsors is United Technology.
One of their subsidiary is Otis Elevator.
We have an elevator for a lift.

Against my wishes, my team has named the robot Shia LaBOT because... I have no idea, teenagers are weird.

The drive team combined their first names and created our bot's name:

T'Kayva (pronounced Tah-Kay-Vah)...

We name our robots after Greek deities every year.

This years robot is "Pricus" the immortal father of sea goats. He controls time and apparently sea fairing goats in tote boats.

We named our practice robot Gumby because of the flex in the open frame made of esto-connectors.

Our comp-bot is named Louie, after the guillotine-like nature of our elevator car.

we named our bot FiFi. No particular reason other than one member started calling it that and it stuck.
