Re: Team Fusion 364 - Final Test Run
Really like the lightweight hook system in the back. Presumably they are made from polycarbonate. What thickness of material did you use, if I might ask?
I also like how deftly your motorized intake manipulates game pieces. ![]() |

The hooks on the end were printed with our Makerbot Replicator 2. PLA plastic. There's a few more 3D printed parts on our bot. The whole string guide assembly to pull the hooks up is 3D printed. Also, thanks Breakaway! Can't wait to see you guys there. Hopefully we can get some good practice matches in together like last year and sweep bayou 2 years in a row ![]() |

How long does it take for the arms to hit the top of the RC? It looks like about 2-3 seconds from the video. Do the arms fall using their own weight? Thanks. See you at Bayou. |

The polycarb tubes hold up well. They're lexan, so about 500x stronger than glass. They can bend completely around.. We've even uprighted a can because the hook got stuck (then we broke our 3d printed claw because it slapped back to the robot so hard). They do fall from momentum. We have a little rubber-band attached to our superstructure to give them a little extra boost. We secure the cans in 3 seconds. The hinges are adjustable. We can move them from left to right in order to set up just right on the field. |

Are the tubes strapped to the longer piece with cable ties or something like that?
