[FRCTop25.com] Season Changes and Week 1 Voting

Our 5th season got off to a fantastic start last night. Premiere Night was so much fun and we thank everyone who was involved.

After much discussion about how we have been running Top 25 in the past, Mike and I are excited to announce a significant change for this year. Over the past 4 seasons, once a team competed, they were eligible to be voted into the Top 25 for the remainder of the year. This concept lends itself to having the majority of the Top 25 staying the same for most of the season, especially towards the end.

The goal of this show has always been to have fun, and bring exposure to the awesome robots teams have created. So new for this year, we are changing the voting rules. For this season, a team is only eligible to be voted for during a week they compete. This new concept will mean a very different Top 25 for each week, allowing us to cover more teams while staying within the Top 25 format.

Most likely, the week prior to the World Championship, we will have the final voting period of the season and just prior to Championship, we will count down the final Top 25 of the season in which all teams will be able to be voted for. This will allow us to end the season with a fun show and enable us to hand out robot stickers at champs and create a shirt for the FRC Top 25 of 2015 as we have done the past 2 years.

We hope you find this change to be positive, but it only works if people vote! The new format means you can't copy and paste most of your list from the prior week and submit it as teams don't compete back to back too often.

So as we head into week 1, keep in mind this new format as you enjoy all the great competition this weekend. As always, if there's anything you see, videos or pictures you take that you think are cool, send it our way. We love using community generated content. Voting will open Saturday Night/Sunday Morning for week 1. Voting will end Monday Night. You will be able to use the link below to vote.

We'll count down the Week 1 Top 25 LIVE on Tuesday, March 3rd at 9PM EST.

Mike and I are looking forward to this season and we hope you are too. Good luck to all teams competing this weekend!
