Re: What robot are you most proud of?
Probably our 2012 robot, Phoenix. Phoenix was the most reliable robot that we've ever built, and it remains our only robot to make it to eliminations in St. Louis. (Thanks again, WildStang and MOE!)

Re: What robot are you most proud of?
FRC 4607 is a young team - but we have had a couple of fairly memorable robots...
2013 - Peanut. We had some issues on the practice day of our first regional and thus had to completely rebuild our robot. It went from a defensive robot that could saunter under the pyramid to the tallest come MN State Championships. Our team grew up overnight that season. Our robot, Peanut did as well. Peanut 2013 At NorthStar we were Rookie All-stars, Won the regional (TY 967 & 2175), and then went on to win the MN State Championship (thank you 2175 and 2052)! 2014 - Gumdrop. We stumbled out of the gate at North Star going 0-2-1 and most wrote us off as a one-year-wonder. However, the PIT team figured out the problem we went undefeated and then were picked by the #1 alliance of 967 & 2175. We swept through the QF and then lost in three to the eventual champions. We qualified for the MN State Tourney again and were on a roll until one of our wheels blew out. We finished as the #2 Captain and chose 3018 and 2530. We ended up in the State finals against 2175, 2052, and 4778. I have never been so proud of a 2nd place finish as we just went toe-to-toe with two perennial powerhouses in MN! Later that year we won MRI and then finished in the Semis at Minne-Mini! Gumdrop 2015 - Briar/Thorn. This year we have 49 members on FRC 4607 - CIS. It is the most comprehensive robot to date for us. We have made certain to bring all members into the fold of CIS and I am proud of what this team has done in the wake of our previous years. Our off-season endeavors have put us in a new position in MN FRC; our new members have already made their mark (see our new website); for the second year we have built a practice robot; we are continuing our outreach with our RoboCamp; we have a new FTC team (9536) and 5 more on the way; we have 3 FLL teams starting next fall... and the list can go on. We also posted a video to FRCTOP25 "Sneak Peak of Briar/Thorn" on for the first time ever. Yes - it was a bit of a Faux Pas on our part... I know that this is long-winded - but for those that know me know that this is par for the course. So after all that - my favorite robot is... Sorry. They all bring back so many great memories. I love coaching this team. I love seeing the alumni come back and instilling their knowledge in the newbies. Go 4607! |

Re: What robot are you most proud of?
Our best/favorite robot has to be 2014. We had an awesome 8 wheel tank drive and a pretty cool catching ability.

Re: What robot are you most proud of?
My favorite of my four years was definitely 2011. It was my first year, our team's first (and so far only) crab drive, a belt-driven elevator, and a cool claw design, along with a great minibot (until SBPLI finals). That robot went from ranked dead last at NYC to number 7 alliance captain and Regional Finalist a short time later at SBPLI. I still consider those eliminations to be some of my favorites over my four years.

Re: What robot are you most proud of?
I like Team 1448's robot this year, but my all time favorite robot we've built is our Ultimate Ascent robot. She was a 30pt climber and could dump the colored discs at the top. The completely autonomous climb was my favorite aspect of it!

Re: What robot are you most proud of?
Our 2014 robot is the only robot to actually win a blue banner in our 17 years of competition, but I still think our "best" robot was from 2005. We could basically stack tetras higher than any other team in the Newton division, and we were pretty fast too. That earned us a spot as the #1 seed's first pick, and if we had worked correctly throughout elims then I bet we could have beat the 330/67/503 alliance and possibly win nationals. That being said, we were still division finalists.

Re: What robot are you most proud of?
2007 for us. We built a ridiculous boom and built our own two-speed transmission. We went undefeated at the St. Louis regional and won the Industrial Design award. We went on to nationals in Atlanta and didn't fair too well, but it was a fantastic time and our team grew a lot closer.

Re: What robot are you most proud of?
While our 2014 robot, Eclipse, was the best robot we ever built, our 2013 robot was my first taste of real success in FRC.
2013-Cathy Our goal is 2013 was to not suck. Our 2012 robot was an utter failure that was way overbuilt and totally ineffective. 2013 we decided we would do one thing, and do it well. We picked floor collecting. With a few promising prototypes, we tried to remove all sources of possible failure in the system. We only shot from one location, we lined discs up side by side so the system wouldn't jam like some bucket hoppers did. We use two oversized pistons to hang, and used them as a hard stop so we made almost every shot. We decided not to go under the pyramid to make it simpler even. We ended up with an extremely successful robot, going undefeated at the Connecticut Regional, reaching the finals at WPI, and getting picked at the championship event for the first time since 2010. Re: What robot are you most proud of?
Our 2011 robot was my most proud robot to work on. While it was frustrating to work on and had many quirky mechanisms, its drive train was a beast. When we finally got it all working we seeded decently at Midwest and were able to sneak a win a match off of the 111/118 alliance using some massive defense.
